Practice Racing will be on the 12th January pm
Racing begins in earnest on 13th January, through to the 18th January with Championship heats.

other trophies and prizes will be awarded.

in 1931, the Port Lincoln Yacht Club today very much lives by its foundation principle...
To Foster a Love of the Sea".
Our club is nationally recognised as one of the best country sailing facilities in Australia. In any given year we will host
a couple of national championships, run a comprehensive junior sailing program, Sailability class competitions and
regular weekend racing for dinghies, multi-hulls and keelboats .
Situated on Boston Bay foreshore with stunning bay views, we enjoy sailing and racing on Australia's best natural
harbour. With consistent breezes, Mediterranean style climate, minimal shipping traffic and only an hour's sail to an
aquatic playground of spectacular islands, its no surprise that the Port Lincoln Yacht Club is a 'must include' Port of
call for visiting Yachties from near and far.

Victorian State Title winners Harrison Fullard & Henry Hall Metung YC
Below, Saturday, 15 March 2008Victorian State Championships 2007-2008
This years State championships were sailed at Sandringham Yacht Club on Port Phillip Bay over the Labour Day long weekend. I didnt know how well I was going to go because I had only sailed a few times since the Nationals because of the algae in the Gippsland lakes.
Metung Yacht Club juniors sailing had to be stopped because the algae was said to be harmful.
The first day of the regatta, on Saturday, was very trying because of the there was not much wind and we were not the lightest crew. The wind was about 5 knots but the race committee managed to get two races in. We finished the day in second place just one point behind Anton Sasson in Samaran. He did extremely well considering this was his first year as a skipper.
Sunday was even lighter than Saturday. Most of us got towed out except for me and Joel because I accidently let go of the tow rope and we got left behind.
We started a race but that soon got abandoned because of the lack of wind. This was good because I went left and everyone that went right was miles ahead. After that we drifted around for a bit then got sent in for an early lunch.
After lunch we got only got one race in before the wind died again. At the end of sailing on Sunday I was placed in equal first with Anton, but only just ahead on a countback. Doug Shepard, sailing Stolen Pig, was ahead of both of us but was not able to win the Victorian States because he was from Tasmania.
On Monday the wind was a lot stronger reaching 15 to 20 knots coming from the north. This was better for the heavier skippers and crews and this changed the top end of the fleet. Callum Wilkinson from Geelong won the first and last race of the day and James Short won the second. Henry, my crew, and I finished 2nd, 3rd, 2nd for that day.
Henry has only been crewing with me this season and has done extremely well to have learnt all he has in this short period of time. I couldnt have sailed so well without him.
It was great to find out at presentation that I had won the State titles after sailing in them for so many years.
I had a great time catching up with some friends and S.Y.C put on a really good regatta.
